There are two facade programs for the downtown Hastings area. The first is the local program created and funded by the Community Redevelopment Authority and is known as the Hastings Downtown Facade Program.

The purpose of the Hastings Downtown Façade Forgivable Loan Program is to, where practical; restore, improve or create historic architectural features to facades of existing and new commercial buildings within the Downtown Business Improvement District. And, in cases where buildings have been significantly altered, damaged or demolished, the new façade should be designed to look appropriate and compatible in the midst of the surrounding buildings.   Applicants may be awarded up to $50,000 per building for facades and storefronts when matched with a significant expenditure by the owner/tenant. The second program was created by the City of Hastings and funded by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development with local matching funds from the Community Redevelopment Authority and is known as the Hastings CDBG Downtown Revitalization 2024 Facade Program.

The purpose of the Hastings CDBG Downtown Revitalization 2024 Facade Program is to, where practical; restore, improve or create historic architectural features to facades of commercial buildings within the Downtown Core Area, in cases where buildings have been significantly altered, damaged or demolished; the new façade should be designed to look appropriate and compatible in the midst of the surrounding buildings.  To qualify for grant funds an application and appropriate plans must be submitted to the Community Redevelopment Authority office at 301 S.
